SW Indiana Woman Scouts Introduce Adventurous New Biscuit Flavors
The Girl Scouts are not satisfied with resting on their laurels and past achievements when it comes to their delicious cookies. They always want to inspire us with the next new type of biscuit – and I think that is exactly what they achieved with the Adventurefuls. Before I tell you, I have some bad news – the Adventurefuls are not yet available. More on that coming.
What is an adventurer?
The biscuit itself is inspired by a delicious chocolate brownie. As if that wasn’t good enough, top it off with a big dollop of salted caramel cream. And then dribble some chocolate over it just to be on the safe side. Liberty and I got to try them and let me tell you, they are as delicious as they sound and look. Before Liberty and I had a few cookies there, we had a chat with Aimee Stachura, the director of the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana. We had a lot to talk about including cookies and one of their biggest annual events that happened that weekend. Listen to it…
When can I get my Girl Scout Cookies?
Well, you have to wait a few more months. As soon as December arrives, expect Girl Scouts to roam the city taking pre-orders for biscuits. The cookies themselves will be ready in February 2022. If you don’t know Girl Scouts and can’t play pre-orders, don’t worry. If you can wait until February, there are plenty of places around town to buy cookies.
What is the “Unleash Strong” event?
This annual fall event is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to see what it is like to be a Girl Scout. This year’s event, sponsored by the Alcoa Foundation, will take place in the National Guard Armory on Saturday, August 28, from 1pm to 5pm.
“Unleash Strong” will feature a variety of activity stations, food trucks, music, give-a-ways and more. Quite a few more, in fact – here’s a full rundown. The cost is only $ 5 for children in grades K-12; Adults and children up to 4 years are free.
Families can register now at bit.ly/gsunleashstrong or at the door on the day of the event.
* Note that this event is indoor and outdoor and masks are required if a safe distance is not possible indoors or outdoors.
