JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) – A southern man charged with killing a woman whose decapitated, mutilated body was found in her burning apartment is being examined by psychiatrists to determine if he has an intellectual disability Has.

A Clark County judge issued an order Wednesday calling for two psychiatrists to examine 36-year-old Brian Williams.

The and Tribune reports that Williams’ defender filed a motion to investigate the Clarksville man.

Williams is charged with the murder and arson in the death of 67-year-old Melody Gambetty, whose body was found by firefighters on July 26th in her burning apartment in Clarksville.

Jeffersonville is located on the Ohio River north of Louisville, Kentucky.
