New to Netflix: Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps star within the comedy collection in regards to the Indiana household

INDIANAPOLIS – Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps star in a new comedy series about a black working-class family in that premieres on Netflix this week.

“The Upshaws” follows married father Bennie Upshaw, played by Mike Epps, who does his best to look after his wife and children in Indianapolis.

Bennie is a working class father and loving husband who owns a car store. His sarcastic sister-in-law Lucretia is played by Wanda Sykes. Throughout the series, she shows how well she knows exactly how to get under the skin of the family.

Sykes and Epps Executive produced the series. You play alongside veteran sitcom Kim Fields.

“I was excited to just do one show that was fun and lots of jokes about a loving family but it felt timely,” said Sykes, who was also co-creator of the show, in an interview on the TODAY show.

The sitcom will be released on Netflix on Wednesday. Check out the trailer in the video player below.
