Moist weekend forward – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana climate
An approaching cold front and a low on the upper level will move to the Midwest, causing widespread showers across the state in late morning through afternoon. Heavy downpours and some strong thunderstorms are possible on site during the day.
The Storm Prediction Center did most of the state for one Marginal risk for heavy storms this afternoon. Any storm that gets violent can have harmful winds and an isolated tornado.
Highs in the lower 70s.
The showers should become a bit more isolated during the night, but a few rumbling thunder cannot be ruled out here either. The lows fall into the upper 40s.
The lower level of the upper level slides north, bringing in much cooler air as well as flare showers for the northern half of the state for much of the day. Altitudes are highest in the upper 50s north of I-70 and in the lower 60s in the south.
We’ll warm up to open the work week, with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s on Monday. Much cooler air for the rest of the expanded forecast, with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s by the end of the week through the weekend. Calm weather during the working week with the possibility of showers coming on Saturday.
