“Mates” tank cruise to set sail in 2022 – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana climate
(CNN) – First the “Friends” reunion, now the “Friends” cruise.
A cruise dedicated to the popular ’90s sitcom will set sail from Florida in May 2022.
FANA, a travel company based in the USA and Singapore, organizes the Friends Fan Cruise, nicknamed “The One When They Went On a Cruise”. The seven-day cruise departs and returns to Fort Lauderdale, with stops in Key West, Florida; Cozumel, Mexico; and George Town, Grand Cayman.
The cruise is not affiliated with Warner Bros., which owns the rights to Friends and shares a parent company with CNN. In addition, no actors will appear. But there is plenty to do on board for super fans, including “Friends” trivia, a costume contest for your favorite character, and cooking demos.
The voyage takes place aboard the Celebrity Equinox, which was named a Big Winner at the 2019 industry’s Cruise Critic Awards and was recognized for best public spaces and best large ship overall. Although the ship can accommodate around 2,800 passengers, the “Friends” sailing trip – which is operated in cooperation with Celebrity Cruises – can only book 500 guests.
Prices start at $ 1,648.66 per person for an inside stateroom and go up to $ 3,048.66 for a Sky Suite with Veranda, the highest room category. According to FANA, all cabin rates include free WiFi, a premium beverage package, $ 150 shore excursion credit per person, tips, taxes and fees. As there are two international ports of call, guests must have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the travel date.
Shore excursions include a visit to the Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Gardens, a tour of the Ernest Hemingway Home, tequila and rum tastings (not at the same time), a helicopter ride over Grand Cayman’s famous Seven Mile Beach, swimming with dolphins and stingrays (definitely the one Pheebs would choose) to explore a coral reef by submarine and take part in a beach cleanup project.
From June 2021, Celebrity Cruises will require all passengers over the age of 16 to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and proof of vaccination. Travelers are also required to complete a mandatory health questionnaire prior to boarding.
