INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A 5-year-old girl was injured in a shooting outside an ice rink near West 38th Street and Interstate 465 on Saturday.
Officials from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to 3902 N. Glen Arm Road, the Skateland location, at around 6:07 p.m. Saturday.
They came to find a “younger child” with injuries related to a gunshot wound. The child was taken to the Riley Hospital for Children and was stable, said Officer Genae Cook of IMPD Public Affairs.
Police at the scene confirmed that the child was a 5-year-old girl.
No information about the circumstances of the shooting was immediately provided by the police.
