Indiana Meals Banks are getting ready for improve and enlargement
Legislators increased funding by 300,000 a year after hunger skyrocketed during the pandemic.
Emily Weikert Bryant of Feeding Indiana’s Hungry says millions of people across the country are still facing problems.
Weikert says that during the closings at many of the boards, cars snaked around the block as people picked up prepackaged groceries.
And many Tafel have had to rent cold stores to safely store perishable donations – and even buy groceries directly to meet demand.
