Indiana is returning to full capability for all sporting occasions subsequent season

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – The Indiana sports division announced Friday that full capacity would be allowed for all sporting events beginning this fall.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, no fans at all were allowed in any sport in the past season. The restriction applied all year round, through all autumn, winter and spring sports.

That should change now.

“This is one of the most exciting days for our department and for me personally as we announce our plans to welcome our fans back this fall,” said Scott Dolson, Indiana sports director, in a statement from the school.

“I cannot thank our fans enough for their patience and understanding as we have followed medical advice to protect the safety and health of everyone during the pandemic. With today’s announcement, we are continuing to follow the advice of the IU Athletics Medical Advisory Group and are counting the days until we see our stands full of Hoosier fans again.

“I would like to thank President McRobbie for accepting and supporting this recommendation, and President-elect Whitten for her cooperation and support for our plan to get back to full work this fall.”

Bloomington, Indiana – We’re back … or do this, you’re back.

Indiana University Athletics plans to allow Memorial Stadium to full capacity for the 2021 IU football season, IU Vice President and Athletics Director Scott Dolson announced today. Full capacity is also planned for all other home sports events of the IU in autumn.

Specific COVID protocols for the IU’s indoor and outdoor sports activities this fall will be finalized at a later date.

On May 26, the Indiana University Restart Committee issued its recommendations for the fall (August 1 – December 31, 2021) to normalize all on-campus activities to pre-pandemic levels. IU Athletics’ decision is consistent with this recommendation and was also made in consultation with state, local and university health authorities.

Season tickets are currently available for the 2021 Indiana Football season. 2020 National and Big Ten Coach of the Year Tom Allen’s team is saying goodbye to bowl invitations one after the other in January and returning 19 starters from last year’s roster, which was ranked 7th nationwide.
