Indiana Household and Social Providers Administration Launches Operation Meals – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana climate

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Family and Social Services Administration is working to ensure families have food on the table during the pandemic.

The department starts “Operation Food.” It shows where to look for food in real time. The red schoolhouses on the map indicate the summer meals that students can pick up at the schools. The blue shopping carts are intended for use in locations across the state where take-away meals are packaged.

The FSSA secretary Dr. Jennifer Sullivan says partnering with the National Guard will allow food banks to continue distributing groceries to pantries.

Sullivan says the meals will help meet demand in response to the pandemic.
