Indiana acquired $ 5.eight billion in new COVID help funds

(AP) – officials have yet to outline grand plans for the inflow of federal funds expected from the $ 1.9 trillion -19 aid package approved by Congress this week.

Preliminary estimates suggest that around $ 5.8 billion will flow towards Indiana.

The governor’s office says approximately $ 3 billion would go to government and $ 2.6 billion to cities and counties.

State lawmakers want to have a say in how that money is spent, as opposed to the $ 2.4 billion in pandemic relief allocated to Indiana last year, which was administered by the government of Governor Eric Holcomb.
