IMPD: Viewers fired pictures as suspected shoplifter pointed gun at Park Ranger at Beech Grove Walmart – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana climate

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) – A man who saw a suspected shoplifter aim a gun at an off duty parking attendant shot the suspect in a Walmart in Beech Grove on Saturday.

The gunshot that went on on S. Emerson Ave. 4650 was fired, came out around 4 p.m. Saturday, and officers from the Metropolitan Department were called in to help.

The suspected shoplifter pointed a gun at the park ranger. At this point, according to IMPD Affairs Officer Samone Burris, a “good Samaritan” shot the suspect and missed him. Burris said the viewer was allowed to carry a firearm.

The suspect, whom police failed to identify, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. One of the members of Walmart Damage Prevention had minor injuries; That person was not taken to a hospital, Burris said.

Possible charges against the suspect were not clear on Saturday night, but Burris said the suspect had unrelated arrest warrants.
