IMPD officer shot lifeless, injured in car chase after double capturing – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana climate

(WISH) – An Indianapolis officer was shot dead on Saturday in a car chase that began at the location of a double shooting near 62nd Street and Michigan Road.

The officer who was shot dead during the chase was in good condition on Saturday afternoon, according to IMPD Affairs Officer Genae Cook.

Police were called to the 6400 block of Kentstone Drive, north and west of 62nd and Michigan Roads, at around 3:40 p.m. Saturday. Two people were found shot dead there. Both were rushed to an area hospital where one was in critical condition and the other was stable, Lt. Shane Foley during a press conference at 5:50 p.m. on the 30th and on the riverside.

As a result of the investigation, the shooting suspect began to be prosecuted. This chase ended near West 30th Street and Riverside Drive. There, several IMPD officers exchanged shots with the suspect, and one officer was injured. She was in good shape on Saturday, Foley said.

The suspect, whom police failed to identify, was also shot in and was in critical condition, Foley said.

Both scenes were active on Saturday night and closed to the public for investigators to work, Foley said.

According to the IMPD, there is no threat to the community in either location and no other suspects have been sought.
