Heart specialist Joins the Franciscan Doctor Community Indiana Coronary heart Physicians

INDIANAPOLIS – Amna Tahir Ahmed, MD founded a practice with the Franciscan Physician Network Heart Physicians.

She joins a of physicians and practice providers serving patients in Indianapolis, Franklin, Greensburg, Martinsville, Columbus, Mooresville, Shelbyville, Crawfordsville and Greencastle.

Dr. Ahmed was most recently the cardiologist and laboratory leader for echocardiography at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Miramar Beach, Florida. She also held positions in hospitals in the Spokane, Washington area where she was the director of the cardiovascular program for women.

She is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, holds a degree in medicine from Aga Khan University Medical College in Pakistan and completed clinical rotations at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, where she later completed a cardiovascular disease scholarship.

Dr. Ahmed has been published in journals on a variety of medical topics. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and Women in Cardiology Chapter ACC. She is also a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
