Document breaking day with new constructive COVID-19 instances reported in Knox County

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) reports another record day of new positive COVID-19 cases in Knox County.

ISDH said Friday that 153 new positive cases of the virus were identified in Knox County. This is the second record day of new positive cases in a row in the county after 96 new positive cases were reported there on Thursday.

According to ISDH, a total of 4,558 positive cases of the virus have now been identified in Knox County since the pandemic began.

Local increase in COVID-19 cases reported by ISDH on Friday:

  • Vanderburgh County: 158 new cases
  • Knox County: 153 new cases
  • Warrick County: 55 new cases
  • Gibson County: 42 new cases
  • Daviess County: 27 new cases
  • Dubois county: 22 new cases
  • Perry County: 21 new cases
  • Spencer County: 16 new cases
  • Posey County: 15 New Cases
  • Posey County: 15 New Cases
  • Pike County: 11 new cases

Nationwide, ISDH announced on Friday that 4,120 new positive cases of the virus have been identified, including the new cases reported locally.

That brought the total number of Indiana residents known to have tested positive for the virus to date to 817,149, according to ISDH.

14 new COVID-19 deaths were also reported nationwide by ISDH on Friday, although none of these new deaths have been identified in our local counties. That brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state to 13,797.
