Cat spent days in Indiana Baum, rescued after massive bounce

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – A cat stuck in a tree in southwest for days is back on solid ground after surviving a dramatic fall when an arborist company severed the limb it was holding on to, because the cat was beyond reaching its savior.

The cat, nicknamed “Batcat” on social media, was extremely weak and dehydrated on Monday after her ordeal in Evansville, which lasted about a week, ended.

When someone mentioned the cat’s plight in the High Score Saloon for days, bar owners Jared Neible and Clint Hoskins promised $ 200 for a tree service to save the animal from the tree, Evansville Courier & Press reported.

A worker from DJ’s Tree Service was lifted into the tree in a bucket cart on Monday, but the cat was too tired and afraid to move, so he used a saw to cut the limb the cat was on. The cat fell about eight feet but appeared fine afterwards.

“It was very scary to see the branch fall and the cat come down. But it’s the only way to get the cat to come down, “Joshua Diehl, who owns the tree the cat was stranded in, told WFIE-TV.” I can really say without a doubt that cats land on their feet. ”

The cat is cared for at a veterinary clinic while the High Score Saloon raises funds to pay for veterinary care for the cat for dehydration and weakness.
