Bourbon from the candy corn of the Indiana Household Farm, made within the former highschool – WISH-TV | Indianapolis Information | Indiana climate
NEWTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – Old 55 Distillery prepares to release the world’s first and only Bottled in Bond 100% Sweet Corn Bourbon.
The whiskey was first available for tasting on Saturday in the distillery’s tasting room in the former high school of Richland Township High School in Newtown, according to Old 55 Distillery in a press release sent to News 8. Newtown is a city of about 250 people and is located about 90 km northwest of Indianapolis.
“This is monumental for bourbon consumers from all over Indiana and around the world,” said Jason Fruits, chief executive officer and master distiller, in the press release. “We grow, grind, puree, ferment, distill, grasp, ripen and refill here at one location in Newtown. Bottled-in-bond is the standard we are pushing for in all of our products.
“Our family decided from the start that sourcing our own grains from the family farm is something unique and allows us to build a legacy that we can be proud of. It’s almost impossible to bring something into the world that has never been done before and we couldn’t be more excited about what our family’s operation has achieved by releasing the world’s first and only bottled 100% Sweet Corn Bourbon. “
Sales of the whiskey are due to begin next week, according to the press release.
The Old 55 Distillery says their mission is to use their family farm and distillery to innovate and bring new quality real estate brandies to market to serve their fast-growing followers and the entire bourbon community.
