FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Community Harvest Food Bank will receive help from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
The health insurance company announced this morning that it is donating more than $ 650,000 in total, which will be shared between Community Harvest and three other panels, both to expand its ability to deliver healthy food to Hoosiers and to host additional mobile food distribution events.
Community Harvest funding will help them deliver £ 300,000 of groceries each month via a truck that will hook up to the Tafel’s Farm Wagon program.
“Even amid growing food insecurity from the pandemic, Community Harvest Food Bank has continued to focus on our mission – to alleviate hunger through the full use of donated food and other resources,” said John Wolf, CEO of Community Harvest Food Bank.
