Adams County teenage pals need the general public to assist catch suspects linked to a deadly accident
ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Friends of a teenage girl who died in an accident last weekend plan to honor her life with a candlelight memorial on Saturday.
Samayah Barker, 17, was trapped in a pickup truck after an accident at the intersection of McKinnie Avenue and Lafayette Streets on Sunday.
Three other people in this pickup were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police said two people in the other vehicle ran away from the scene and remained at large.
Friends organize a candlelight memorial at the Bernese bell tower for Saturday at 8 p.m.
They said they want to honor Samaya and hope that the two people who ran away from the crime will be found.
“I’m really going to push and do what she wanted me to do and make my dreams come true, because that’s what she would have wanted me to do. She always pepped me up, ”said Brianna Bragg, a friend of the victim.
Fort Wayne Police said they knew there was a witness who saw the accident and saw the two people in the other car take off.
The authorities hope that a witness will come forward.
“It’s definitely annoying. Everyone is upset and everyone wants justice for her and I really hope she gets justice because she deserves it. She was such a great person and she never deserved it, ”said another friend, Alayiah Rodriguez.
